Villa Falah is single family residence planned for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The lot configuration, with streets on both sides of the lot, provides the passerby views of the building from two opposing sides. This rare site condition served as the primary design driver, and the project developed as an intersection of two volumes, as a dialogue of two facades. Local limestone was selected as the material for the building, an abundant and vernacular building material in Saudi. Spatial elements, normally not present in Western cultures, such as the majilis or diwaniya, informed the spatial planning of this Villa, catering to the daily routine of the Saudi culture.
